And a time will come when we need to mourn...

When I was forced to learn to be a boy, a Spanish mystic poet called St. John Of The Cross helped me take the first steps to accepting myself.

He took this image as the inspiration of many of his poems…

Poems in which he described his own soul as female. As a bride mourning the disappearance of Jesus her bridegroom…

I secretly felt my soul to be female, too… and to find a poet - and a poet who was a saint! - feeling the same way as I did moved me so profoundly.

And helped me to take the first steps to see myself as OK…
