I’m still a bit haunted by the description of the people who came to see John as “admitting to their broken hearts and bad ways” - and I see I’ve reversed the adjectives, because I think that describes all of us right now pretty well
Living as we must within a socio-economic system that hurts and divides us and rewards and encourages the worst parts of ourselves.
And we need release and we need to change….
The world we live in tells us that things are how they have to be, that human nature is human nature and cannot change.
And the church has colluded with society in this, so the traditional biblical call to ‘repent’ has become meaningless.
So the question is: what can we do to co-operate with the change that is happening, as it must….
