I've been a bit remiss lately about posting the daily readings.
Forgive me.
The fact is I've been dealing with something of a health crisis:
Nothing life-threatening in an immediate way, although if this happened at any other time and in almost any other place, it would slowly kill me.
What I mean is that my left hip, my dear hard-working left hip, has decided it's had enough for now.
If any of you have ever had hip problems, you'll know just how that turns your life upside down.
It's something I've been afraid of for awhile now, and the fact now it's happened is weirdly a bit of a relief. I can just get on with the process of dealing with it.
When I was still teaching acting students, I used to tell them that the great advantage of being an artist is that we don't need to fear what may or may not happen to us.
Because whatever it is, we can use it to deepen and strengthen our art.
So I'm sure I will be writing about all this very soon.
Meantime, I haven't shared the most beautiful reading of how we shouldn't trust material goods, it's not a good thing for to seek for them, and we mustn't give them our allegiance.
No the other beautiful one about light comes to us through the eye… But if our eyes are bad and dark, we see darkness.
And then our lives are dark indeed.
I think that's the one I'll share with you just now.
All love and light to all of you…
Thinking of you Jo, as you face this challenge. Sending prayers. xox
If life gives you lemons, screw lemonade, throw them hard at those the cause you suffering. Och I know, not exactly grace, forgiveness, and loving kindness, you wonderfully preach, but if it cheers you up.
Perhaps turn your hip into a weapon to smite the haters, like in the Book of Judges (15:15-17) in the Bible where Samson uses a donkey's jawbone to kill a thousand Philistines. I hold your coat.
I know you are way to good a woman to think in these terms... But I hope I made you smile anyway! 😊
