Two days older
People have been very kind about my last post.
I still don’t quite know how to write about all this; but I know what i don’t want to do.
I don’t want to moan about how horrid it all is;
or pretend it isn’t happening, that “old age is just a number”
(when it so obviously is so much more than that)
Or fight it, or try to reverse it.
I think I just want to live with it, day by day,
See what is happening, and maybe record it from time to time.
Because I do find it fascinating…
There are a great many of us old people, I’m sure someone knows the statistics,
And we tend not to talk about what is happening,
Perhaps we don’t want to bore people.
And so we tend to feel alone…
Which means there is value in talking about what is going on.
If I can just find the right language and tone to do so.
Meantime there is my paid for substack.
