I love the mystery of this passage.
You could read it as being about the arbitrary nature of disasters.
When a tsunami comes, who is swept away and who stays safe?
But perhaps it’s also about revelation, about the moment of inspiration that just seems to come out of nowhere.
But whether good or bad, these great natural forces have nothing to do with our sense of what is good or what is bad.
They just happen. Hugely happen.
And we are helpless in the face of them. In some ways helpless.
All the more important to live in a way that is open and aware and trusting.
